The sole B737-7H6 entered service with 2 Skn in the summer of 2003, and is often seen outside Malaysia. Here it is seen on a visit to Rotterdam Airport.

F/A-18D M45-02 is one of eight aircraft in service with 18 Skn at Butterworth since 1997. There is a good chance that these aircraft will be augmented or even replaced with more modern F-18's in the near future, funds permitting.

11 Skn "Golden Cobra", and 17 Skn "Bat" which was disbanded at Sultan Ahmed Shah flying the MiG-29N & MiG-29NUB are thought to re-activate at Gong Kedak when the first Su-30MKMs are delivered.



In service since 1982, seven out of thirteen MB339AM's remain in service with 15 Skn but do not seem to be operational at the moment.

Two MiG-29NUB's and sixteen MiG-29N's entered service from March 1995 with 17 Skn and 19 Skn at Kuantan. 17 Skn has since been disbanded and is to receive the Su-30MKM at Gong Kedak from 2006.

Indonesian company PT Dirgantara Indonesia delivered six CN235-220M's to 21 Skn from August 1999. Two VIP models are also on order.

The S-61A-4 Nuri entered service in 1968 and almost 30 remain in service today. However, two fatal crashes in 2004 have fueled public outcry to replace these veteran helicopters.

Fifteen C-130's entered service from March 1976 in three models, C-130H, C-130H-30 and C-130H-MP. Two MP models were converted to C-130T tankers. They are divided between 14 Skn at Labuan and 20 Skn at KL-Subang.

The Malaysian Army Air Unit (Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat) consists of 881 Skn. The Unit Director is a Lt. Kolonel (TUDM) (seconded) and reporting directly to Chief of Army. Currently, only one Helicopter Squadron is in operation for transport & logistics.
