Most aircraft are based at Pondok Cabe, but some at Halim and Suryadarma. Only a few aircraft, mostly PZL-104s, are operational while the rest are stored all over Indonesia.

The PZL-104 Wilga, or locally known as Gelatic (Rice Bird), was introduced in December 1964. Some 22 were assembled from Polish kits in Bandung, a further seventeen were manufactured locally. Final delivery was in October 1979. Today, a few remain operational as glider tugs with the FASI.

Angkut Intai, or Patrol is the main task of three B737-2X9s received by 5 Squadron from June 1982. A single C-130H-MP patrol aircraft received in 1981 was lost in a fatal crash in 1985.
Teemu Tuuri
When eight F-16As and four F-16Bs replaced the OV-10s with 3 Squadron from 1989, they were by far the most modern aircraft in TNI-AU service. Between 1996 and 1999, they formed the Elang Biru, or Blue Falcon demo team. Today, ten aircraft remain operational and need to be upgraded to remain effective.

Indonesian Aerospace, or PT IPTN in the 80’s and 90’s, produced a number of NB-412S and NB-412HP transport helicopters from 1988. At least fifteen seem to have been received, with at least two lost so far. They are hard to track as they are scattered all over the Archipelago.

The GAF Nomad patrol aircraft is by far the most numerous aircraft in Navy service. Eighteen N 22B/SLs were delivered to RON 800 from 1975, although one was lost pre-delivery. All survivors have now been withdrawn from use. Twenty ex-RAA/RAAF N 22B/N 24As arrived in 1997. At least four more were received around 2002.
