The KAI T-50 Lead-In Fighter Trainer (LIFT) was introduced in December 2005 as a replacement for the F-5A/B and T-38A, with fifty delivered so far. In 2010, a further ten T-50Bs were delivered to the Black Eagles demo team, and the first of 22 TA-50 light-attack models was rolled out in January 2011.

The 29 TD&TG provides two courses: FWIC (Fighter Weapons Instructor Course) and DACT (Dissimilar Air Combat Training course).

Only five HH-47Ds are known to be operational with 235 SRS since 1991. They operate next to seven HH-32s in the SAR role.

Eighteen ex-USAF RF-4Cs were transferred in 1989-1990. Some of these recce birds are now the oldest Phantoms in service worldwide, with 64-1001 (cn 668) making its first flight on 15 December 1964! Having suffered its first two losses in recent years, the RF-4C fleet is to be replaced by Tactical EO/IR Reconnaissance System equipped F-16s.

In 1980, a licence agreement was signed between Northrop and the Hanjin Corporation (Korean Airlines), for the assembly of a highly modified F-5E. These aircraft were then known as KF-5E/F and are called Chegong (Skymaster). A total of 48 KF-5Es and twenty KF-5Fs were produced between September 1982 and 1986.

115 FTS has been reactivated on 4 october 2010 and is awaiting the arrival of the TA-50s.

The BAe Hawk is known as a great training jet, and 216 FTS at Yecheon is the sole, but proud user of the type. The first of twenty Hawk Mk67s, also known as T-59, was delivered in 1992. The type replaced another classic, the T-33.

Three S-92As were handed over in October 2007. Known as VCH-92, they are presumed to be part of the VIP fleet of 296 Squadron at Seongnam.

A true multi-purpose helicopter is the UH-60P, used for Navy Seals special operations, medevac, VIP and utility tasks. Ten should have been received by 1993 and formed 623 HS at Pohang, where they operate next to the UH-1H.
