36 Mirage 2000's in three versions were delivered in the late '80s to the Abu Dhabi Air Force. These include 6 DAD Dual trainings versions, 22 EAD Fighter versions and 8 RAD Reconnaissance version. The United Arab Emirates has ordered 30 Mirage 2000-9 aircraft, a customized version of the 2000-5 with additional air to ground capabilities. Deliveries are planned for 2003. The United Arab Emirates Air Force & Air Defence is committed to upgrade its current fleet of 33 Mirage 2000s to the -9 standard.

Is is unclear whether the Mk.61 Haws are still operational.
The Rotary sq and Al Ghezelle sq that used to be based here have been disbanded. The Horizon International Flight Academy (HIFA) is now fully responsible for the helicopter training and utilizes some ex-UAEAF&AD Bell 206Bs. Some of the SA342 Gazelle helicopters were donated to the Lebanese Air Force (LAF) in April 2007.
The Bell 412 and AB139 of the SAR Flight is owned by Evergreen and operated by Falcon Aviation Services for the UAEAF&AD. The exact unit designation is unknown.


Seven Casa/Nurtanio CN-235M-100's were delivered to the Abu Dhabi Air Force. License built in Indonesia by the former IPTN (now IAe) company, this particular aircraft was assigned manufacturers number N027. It wore temporary registration AX-2308 while owned and flown by IPTN.

The Police Air Element of Ras-Al-Khaimah operated a handful of helicopters out of a small helipad in this amall Emirate. Besides the Mi-2 it operatesthe Mi-8. The Sokol W3 that they used to operate was sold to the civilian market.
