This base houses besides the main F-14A Overhaul facilities also facilities of Iranian Aircraft Industries (IACI) as well as the Iranian Helicopter Support and Manufacturing Company (IHSMC).
The AWACS Il-76MD was previously known as "Adnan-1" but was renamed "Simorgh" recently. This name is also used for an indigenous Northrop F-5A to F-5B conversion.

The Iraqi Air Force lost a couple of squadrons worth of hardware during the first Gulf War in 1991. Defecting pilots supplied the IRIAF and the IRGCAF with some state-of-the-art hardware like some Su-25K/UBKs. The dual-seat Su-25UBK trainer depicted here was bought from the Russians in a later stage to enable type-rating on the Frogfoot. The Frogfoots are used by the Revolutionary Guard.
