3.elt was redesignated from 3.PLM in 2000. 3.elt retired the MiG-21MF in late 2002 and re-equipped with the MiG-21bis in August 2002. The last MiG-21's of the unit were retired in January 2004 after the squadron flew its last mission on 16 December 2003. The unit became the first unit to receive the F-16 in late 2006. 6.elt followed in 2007.

The unit was tasked with liaison tasks for 3.KOP and also with SAR tasks. The unit moved to Bydgoszcz in 2008 following which Wroclaw-Strachowice was reduced to standby status.

1.OSzL was redesignated from the 58.LPSz in 2000.
The unit also incorporates the 'Iskry' demonstration team. In 2002 1.OSzL received the helicopters from 3.OSzL at Biała Podlaska after this unit disbanded. The Mi-2's are to be replaced by 24 PZL SW-4's.
Also incorporated in the unit is the technical school formerly based at Olesnica. The technical school is equipped with several instructional airframes including some Su-22s and MiG-29s.
23.les was tasked with training, test and evaluation tasks but disbanded in 2002.
