In 2004 the Centrul 95 Trecere pe Avioane Supersonice or the 95th Supersonic Jet Training Center was redesignated Baza 95 Aeriana. The training task was transferred to a dedicated training squadron which is subordinate to the S.A.p.F.A. at Boboc. This squadron Esc.205 loans aircraft from Esc.951.

The Alouettes and Pumas were reassigned here from Grupul 59 Elic. at Tuzla and Grupul 60 Elic. at Tecuci which now have been closed. The Alouette IIIs however have been retired since.

Bacau also houses the Aerostar aircraft facility which carries out maintenance, modifications and repairs on most of the aircraft on the Romanian AF inventory.
