| Besides their own helicopters the Corpo Forestale regular leases other aircraft like the S.64F, Mi.26T and Dromader | ||

This picture shows perfectly why the CFS operates with a small fleet of AB412 helicopters. This medium transport helicopter can be fitted with an under slung watercarrier to fight forest fires. Besides this task the CFS also uses the AB412 for transport of personnel and equipment and for patrols in search of possible forest fires.

By the size of this helicopter you would not expect that it is used to fight fires with under slung water carriers like the AB412 shown above. The CFS actually does use them for this task, but the bulk of the NH500 missions for the CFS are patrols to control the forest areas in Italy.
