The Guardia di Finanza's aviation capabilities have been greatly improved with the acquisition of the AB412. This helicopter is used for long-range patrols and recently a second batch has been ordered with Agusta-Westland.

The NH500 is used in large numbers by the Guardia di Finanza. They are used for short and medium range patrols and as clearly shown on the picture they have the capability to land on the water. Exception are the two Northern based units at Bolzano and Venegono. The pilots at these stations are trained in mountain operations over the Italian parts of the Alps.
