Hi All,
Spent a week at Phuket with almost daily dose of aviation. Mainly 8am to ~noon-ish. People who frequent that part of the world know that the light at HKT this time of the year is almost on top most of the day. That didn't stop me from enjoying some spotting
There is a nice coffee shop now, which open the doors last November. Spotter friendly and gives you opportunity to stay cool inside of the ac and just go out on the balcony to take pictures when something interesting is coming. No real food provided, mainly pastries and cool drinks (no alcohol). They open at 9am, but the owner is pro spotting hobby and she let us in every day way before 8am.
No matter what runway is in use, that place is good for both sides. The only lens that I used during all of my visits there was 28-105mm. That's for runway and taxiway action.
During the winter months when the sun in on the proper side, I'll stick with the beach location. This place is perfect for top lit months.

Aeroflot A330 smashed the landing and blew some hydraulic tubes/pipes. Got disabled on the runway and had to be towed away. The airport was closed because of it for over an hour. We left after about 30 minutes as it didn't look as they were moving anytime soon.

Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Could start a crowdfunding to build another floor in that cafe, which makes pictures possible without that fence
It is a great set regardless, thanks for sharing!

Yes, that fence in most pictures... You can get fence free shots on the runway, that's about it.
Still, it's a progress. Legal spot without hiding or being bothered by local authorities. And of course with the toilet, AC and snacks
Like I've said earlier, during October - March I'll stick to the beach location.
More shots to follow

And here are the last shots that I took in Phuket. All pictures are actually taken from the seat in Thai Airways A320.
