Orly is the second airport of Paris. Most of the traffic consists of French domestic airlines but also some European ones are coming to Orly, like Iberia and TAP. Also on Orly are a maintenance base of Air France and a small cargo section. Orly is also known for visiting military transport aircraft, especially from Africa.

Aérogare Sud
This is the older of the two terminals, it has large glass windows at the apron side with very good views of the runway in front and the taxiways to the cargo and maintenance areas. Unfortunately, the terrace is closed nowadays after some heavy weather a couple of years ago. You can spot from inside the terminal along the glass, a very good spot is at the right side where you can go one floor up and have a view of the other side of the airport as well.

Aérogare Ouest

Air France mostly uses this terminal for their domestic services, but also Iberia and TAP use it. Inside the terminal the view is mostly obstructed, but an area in between the two piers gives a view of the apron.
Maintenance and Cargo
Numerous spots exist around the maintenance and cargo area, as there are roads all over the place. Just drive around until you read everything off, photos are possible but you have to find a good place along the fence. You also can walk to here from the terminal, or take the free bus service to one of the parking lots.

Around The Airport

The Landing of Runway 26
You can park your car at this side of the runway. You can stand at either side of the approach, so the sun is never a problem.
The South Side
A few years back, they made this very nice park at the south side of the runway. You have the sun in your back for most of the day. It is a little difficult to find, you have to take the first exit at the end of the tunnel under the field and just follow the road into the town. Just keep on driving until you reach the spot.
Landing Runway 07
Along the runway there are a couple of spots where you can stand. At the very end, you can take landing shots at both sides of the approach.

Getting There
You can get to Orly by taking a local train from downtown to Antony and change for the OrlyVAL there. A connection from the other side of Paris also exists, but that involves taking a bus from Orly RER station. A bus service to downtown Paris is also operated. Air France buses connects Orly to the city and to Charles de Gaulle. A free shuttle bus connects the two terminals and the parking lots. The OrlyVAL service between the two terminals is also free of charge.
