This is in fact the airport of Nyköping. It lays about 100 km south of Stockholm, but, as it is used by Ryan Air, it is now called Stockholm-Skavsta for marketing purposes. On the field the Swedish Coast Guard has a hangar, as does Trygg Flyg and Saab Nyge Aero, so a visit can be good for some nice Casa 212s or Mu-2s.

Layout

As this is a former militairy field, there are a lot of roads and buildings. The terminal is located in the center of the field, the cargo appron to the left of it. Along the road to the terminal are the hangars of the Kustbevakning, Trygg-Flyg, Saab Nyge Aero, and others. The local technical school has a couple of interesting aircraft, among those are prototypes of the Saab 2000 and Saab 340. The school has a large hangar opposite the Coast Guard hangar. A little further towards the runway a small museum keeps the memory of the former F11 squadron alive with a number of former Air Force aircraft.

Around The Airport
If you leave the airport and take a left turn, there are good photospots at the approach. If you continue along this road, you eventually reach the local flying club. Parked here are a stored and an operational An-2.
