    General
Budel, now known as Kempen Airport, is a nice general aviation airfield between Eindhoven and Maastricht, just next to the Motorway. Apart from the normal light singel engine aircraft, like Cessna’s or Pipers, it also houses a couple of bigger ones like Pilatus PC-12 and Socata TBM-700 and twins like Partenavia P-68. Also, don’t be surprised to find smaller bizjets there like the Cessna CitationJet as there is a maintenance facility. For those interested in Ultra Lights also a place worth a visit, as Budel is one of the few airfields in the country where those machines are allowed.
    Layout
Also not a difficult place to look around as all the aprons and hangars are close by and fairly easy to access (with permission, naturally).
    Getting There  Public Transport Info
The only possible way is going by taxi from Weert station.

    General
Hilversum is located in the centre of the country, quite close to Amsterdam. At this small airfield, most of the traffic consists of gliders, parachuting and local sight seeing flights.
    Layout
This is a big field of grass with a lot of crossing runways and hangars at both sides of the field, so getting around is required to see everything. Most of the hangars are located next to the restaurant at the main entrance, were also a viewing area is present. As a couple of sides of the field are surrounded with trees, the approaches can be quite spectacular, with aircraft hopping over the trees. Also, mostly during the summer, busy gliding traffic is present, either with tugs or hoists.
    Getting There  Public Transport Info
As this airfield lies outside of the town, the most convenient way to get there is by taking the Treintaxi from Hilversum main station. Another possibility is getting the city bus to Nieuw Loosdrecht and walk for 15 minutes.

    General
Nowadays known as Zeeland Airport, Midden Zeeland is another civil field with mostly light aircraft. Located in the southwest corner of the Zeeland province, it is quite a distance to get there, but if you’re in the neighbourhood always worth a visit. Especially during the summer months as there is quite heavy parachuting traffic with sometimes bigger aircraft like a Let 410. Also gliders are using this field.
    Layout
A typical small airfield layout with all the hangars placed along the runway and parallel taxiway. To see most of the aircraft, access to the field is required as the hangars obstruct the view from the road and there is no way to get to the other side of the field.
    Getting There  Public Transport Info
As with most smaller airports there is no bus connection available, but you can take the Treintaxi from Middelburg station.

    General
This small civil airfield has recently received an asphalt runway, so heavier aircraft can use it as well. It is also in use as by gliders. It is located between Roosendaal and Breda in the south west part of the country, next to the motorway. Only a couple of hangars are present but there are enough aircraft to make this airfield worth a visit.
    Layout
The hangars are close to the airport building and close together, so airside permission is required to see most of the aircraft. At the other side of the runway, a nice viewing area is located with a good view of the apron and the runway.
    Getting There  Public Transport Info
The only way to get there is to take the Treintaxi from Roosendaal.

    General
Another nice general aviation airfield with a lot of light aircraft, but also a couple of helicopters, twins and a CitationJet. Teuge is also in use as a glider field.
    Layout
A compact layout so not everything can be seen from outside. But fortunately it is not that difficult to gain access to the field (as with most smaller airfields in the country), just try you luck at the airport manager office. A viewing area is also present at one end of the runway, with a nice view of the traffic, which can be quite a lot, especially during weekends.

Every half hour bus services from Apeldoorn station and Deventer station are stopping right in front of the airport entrance.

    General
Located on the island of Texel, just of the coast off Den Helder, this is a very good airport for general aviation. Especially in the summer when it is really busy with parajumpers and visiting aircraft. Every couple of years, the famous Texel Airshow is held with even fighter jets like the Harrier and Let 39 participating (from the grass runway!).
    Layout
All the hangars are located near the airport building so everything can easily be seen. From the roads along the field, nice views at the landing and departing traffic can be found.
    Getting There  Public Transport Info
As expected with an island, getting there involves taken a boat. The ferry departs from Den Helder harbour at regular intervals. From the harbour at Texel, you can either go by bus or rent a bike.

    Public Transport
Getting around The Netherlands by public transport is quite easy. A very dense railroad network exists and a lot of bus lines connect the main stations with the smaller towns. Almost every larger city also has a local bus network.

Additional, taxis are operating from the bigger stations but can get expensive.

A good alternative is a Treintaxi, this is a cheap taxi ride in combination with a valid train ticket. Reservation is not necessary, but you’re not always the only passenger as this public transport is on a share base. This means that sometimes you first drop off the other passengers before getting to your destination, the route is a decision of the taxi driver. For your way back, you have to contact the taxi operations by calling them at least one hour in advance.
