General
This one of the two Dutch Navy bases in Holland. As Den Helder also is the main base for the Dutch Navy ships, the Westland Lynx helicopters are based here. The airport has frequently visiting helicopters of other countries. A part of the airport is civil and based here are a lot of helicopters of Schreiner Noordzee Helicopters, as this is their main base. This also results in a lot of visiting civil helicopters as wel. The MARHELI flight consists of two squadron: 7 squadron conducts the triaing on the Lynx and the 860 squadron is based at various ships of the Royal Dutch Navy.
