General
Eindhoven is a combined civil and military airport. It also houses a very busy paintshop, the Philips aviation department and a lot of general aviation, among others. At the airbase the transport squadron of the Royal Netherlands Air Force is based with KDC-10, C-130, Fokker 50, Fokker 60 and the G.1159C.

Terminal roof terrace
The first spot is at the roof-terrace. A consumption is obliged at the restaurant. From the terrace you have an excellent view of the apron. Only civil aircraft can be photographed here using a 75-300mm lens. The military airbase is at the other side of the runway, which is at quite a distance. If you leave the terminal, walk left around the small office appartment and you will reach a fence, which is next to the apron. Steps are needed to take pictures over the fence using 75-200mm. Just as at the terminal, photographical opportuinities are good until 2 pm.
Next to the terminal
Another spot is at the right side of the teminal, this is were most of the hangars are, a couple with windows at the back, so you can take a look inside as wel.
Paint shop
If aircraft are parked outside the paint-shop hangar walk to the paint-shop until the fence. From here the aircraft can be photographed with 50 mm. Just as the other two spots before, the light gets annoying at two o'clock. You also have a good view of the 334sq transport aircraft which are parked on the ramp next to the paintshop.

Around The Airport
Runway 22
But, the best spot at Eindhoven is the spot at runway 04-22. When the aircraft are landing at runway 22, drive towards the Philips hangar and turn left, before the bridge. You are now driving on a road called "Spottersweg" or in English "Spottersroad"! From this road perfect pictures can be taken of landing aircraft. Best lens is again 75-300 mm.
Runway 04
When the aircraft are using runway 04, follow the road and take the first left (direction Wintelre). Take again the first on your left (direction Veldhoven) and drive a little bit further. You can't miss.
Threshold Runway 22
Take the road from spot 4 to spot 5 (Landsardseweg), first path to the left (dirth road) will take you to the threshold of runway 22. The distance requires at least a 200mm lens for landing shots. You can use this spot after 14.00 because the sun is shifting behind you.
Along the Runway
Follow the Landsardseweg, take the second small road to the left (asphalt road). This leads to a crashgate with a view of the 334sq apron, but quite a distance for taking pictures. But landing shots can be taken here with 200-300mm and the taxiway is right in front of you. For the sun, see spot 6, as it is on the same side.
Landing Runway 04
The same as for spot 7: good for landing and taxiway shots after 14.00.
